The Governor Veniamin Kondratyev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Russia Pasquale Terracciano discussed the cooperation of the Krasnodar Region and the Italian Republic in various sectors of economy. The event was held as a part of the visit of the foreign business mission to Kuban.

The Head of Kuban noted that Italy is an old and reliable partner of the Krasnodar Region, and the Krasnodar Region is interested in further development of relations with the Italian Republic. In particular, the experience of foreign colleagues will be useful in the development of alternative energy.

- There are all conditions to create wind power plants in the region. If this arouses interest in the Italian business, we are ready to show the sites for the location of wind power plants, which Im sure will create an additional economy in the region,  Veniamin Kondratyev emphasized.

The General Honorary Consul of Italy in the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasian Federal District Pierpaolo Lodigiani noted that negotiations with an investor ready to cooperate with the Krasnodar Region in this direction are in progress.

Manufacturing agricultural equipment can be another area of cooperation between the Krasnodar Region and the Italian Republic, the Governor of the Krasnodar Region said.

The Italian delegation is also interested in the topics of medical rehabilitation and balneotherapy based on thermal springs in Sochi and Goryachiy Klyuch. Veniamin Kondratyev emphasized that these areas are currently in demand in the region and throughout Russia.

- We are ready to do our best so that not only Sochi, but also other cities turned into world-class resorts,  the Governor said by expressing his confidence in that this business mission will take specific results.

Pasquale Terracciano confirmed that the visit to Kuban for the second time this year demonstrates the seriousness of the intentions of the Italian side. 54 companies take part in the business mission.

In 2017, the foreign trade turnover of the Krasnodar Region with Italy amounted to 1.2 billion USD. Mineral fuel and petroleum products compose exports, and engineering products compose imports. Six enterprises with investments from Italy are registered in the territory of the region. These are small and medium-sized businesses engaged in wholesale and retail trade in building materials, construction equipment, paint and varnish, and the production of semi-finished leather.
